Support Reforestation in Haiti and Wisconsin.

Around the world, deforestation is causing droughts, erosion, flooding, loss of wildlife habitat, and human emigration. It also is a major cause of global warming. DOERS, out of concern for present and potential refugees, is launching a campaign to educate and organize people in Wisconsin to work against deforestation. Check out the many ways you can help (see below) and get involved!

Attend our Haitian Dinner
On Sat., March 13, at 6 p.m., DOERS will host an ethnic Haitian dinner at Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ, 1501 Gilbert Rd, Madison. Tickets are $15 - $50, on a self-judged sliding scale. Melinda Miles, Co-Director of the Quixote Center in Washington, D.C. will give an illustrated talk on Reforestation in Haiti: An Upward Spiral. There will also be booths from groups promoting reforestation and sustainable use of wood.
